Health and Safety Performance Metrics
The development and use of performance metrics and benchmarking is an important part of health and safety programs that truly reduce hazards and protect workers. EPG has developed performance metrics for a variety of industries and can design surveillance systems for new companies upon request.

Policy, Program and Procedure Development
EPG has developed a broad range of health and safety programs in a variety of industrial sectors including health care, manufacturing, and academia. Detailed procedures for implementation of safety programs are on hand for application in a number of workplace and environmental settings.

Health and Safety Audits
An integral part of continuous improvement is the use of audits and periodic program reviews. EPG professionals have the experience and knowledge needed to perform comprehensive audits and technical reviews to improve efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.

Laboratory Safety and Inspection
Laboratory accidents and hazards can be minimized through the routine evaluation and inspection of conditions and practices.  With years of laboratory work experience EPG can provide a new set of eyes to make numerous improvements to ensure overall safety.  Lab inspections can be designed as performance-based processes to include brief interviews with researchers or workers to identify concerns, problem areas, and inconsistencies with work practices.

Chemical Hygiene Plans
EPG has written numerous Chemical Hygiene Plans to satisfy OSHA requirements for laboratory safety.  These plans can be easily modified to meet the need of any size lab or program.

Biological Safety Programs
Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) guidelines for biological safety in laboratories requires a written program and EPG has developed several for a variety of clients including universities, manufacturing, and research biotechnology institutions.

Bloodborne Pathogen Plans
Bloodborne Pathogen Plans required by OSHA should be an integral part of any healthcare center’s worker safety program.  It has to be written and implemented fully.  All workers need to be trained.  Protective devices need to be selected and implemented.  EPG can help ensure that all required parts of the program are being met, not only to meet requirements, but to truly protect the workforce.

Machine Guarding
The loss of a limb or extremity is a horrific occupational occurrence in any situation.  Almost all such accidents are completely avoidable.  A comprehensive workplace assessment with corrective actions, conducted in conjunction with a broad worker training program, can minimize the risk to workers and the company.  Experienced EPG staff can be another set of eyes to identify situations where improvements can reduce risks from worker injuries from moving parts.
