 Core Principles

The Environmental Performance Group is dedicated to the principles of sustainable development and sustainability. The core concepts are inherent in even the smallest EPG projects. Clients are encouraged to seek long-term solutions and alternative approaches in their facilities, programs, and business practices.

Although typically associated with purely environmental issues, the same sustainability philosophies and beliefs are used by EPG to set policies and directions for occupational health and safety programs. Practicing sustainability means continually implementing knowledge building strategies into business activities and challenging basic assumptions, theories, and accepted methodologies. EPG and our successful clients and companies continually seek new areas of research or endeavor, new alliances in different sectors, and innovative problem solving approaches.

EPG clients tend to have increased decision-making responsiveness and organizational acceptance of change. Numerous case studies and reports have shown that businesses that practice sustainability principles tend to be more efficient and profitable than their competition. They are more capable of rapid transformation under economic, social, and political uncertainties. Continuous improvement is a cornerstone of sustainable development and EPG practice.

Sustainability is a voluntary response to the complex interactions with the public, governments, workers, and clients. It is the willingness to “do-the-right-thing” and behave in a way that will benefit everyone. EPG professionals firmly believe in these concepts and encourage our clients to think like-mindedly for the good of the community, workers, and company stakeholders.
